- THE HEART SUTRA -

The Heart Sutra is a short Buddhist scripture that condenses the wisdom of Buddhism. Centered on the concept of "emptiness," it teaches the fundamental Buddhist principle that all phenomena lack substance, are interdependent, and are in constant change. This modern translation expresses this profound philosophy in a way that is accessible to contemporary understanding. We hope this will serve as an aid to understanding one aspect of the Eastern philosophy that underlies the "null² (Null Null)" experience.

Listen closely and clear your heart.

When Kannon-sama looked deeply, deeply at the world,

She realized that everything had no shape and was empty.

Things you can see, things you can hear, things you can touch,

They don't truly stay in one place.

They are born, they disappear, they are always moving, like a dance.

So, even the painful or sad moments,

They don't last forever in your heart.

What you see with your eyes, what you hear with your ears,

The smells, the tastes, the things you touch, and the feelings inside your heart,

They all flow by like water in a river, gently, quietly.

When you hold onto something thinking, "This is the truth,"

Your heart can get lost or sad. But when you realize everything is empty,

You won't get lost anymore.

There's no fear, no anxiety.

You won't be caught by wrong thoughts.

Kannon-sama kindly taught this:

"In the true world, there's no confusion or enlightenment.

There's nothing to gain, nothing to lose.

Everything is just as it is."

When your heart is free, you can see the light.

This light will shine through the darkness of suffering and sadness.

So don't be afraid, don't worry.

Try gently repeating these magical words:

"Gatei gatei, haragatei, harasougya gatei, boji sowaka."

Let's cross over to the other shore,

Together, to the world of light.

Kannon-sama smiled.

The sky was blue, and the wind blew softly.

"null²" and Eastern Philosophy

The "null² (Null Null)" experience is deeply connected to the concept of "emptiness" expressed in the Heart Sutra. In the "Forest of Null" within the pavilion, we attempt to return to the fluid essence of life, departing from fixed symbols and self-recognition. This resonates with the Heart Sutra's teaching that "everything is empty," fusing Eastern philosophical concepts of "nothingness" with post-humanist visions of the future through digital nature.
